Company Malik covers entire range of medico-technical care, which means compensation of lost functions and parts of the body by technical means. It consists of these basic activities:

1. Prosthetics, which can be seen as a activity of the production of prostheses
2. Orthotics, under which we understand the production of orthoses.

These are the areas in which the Company Malik provides prosthetic and orthotic care. The last activity is the field of epitetics for which the company provides measurements for manufacturing, which is done in cooperation with specialized departments.

From the list of provided orthopedic and prosthetic services and products it is clear that the company Malik compared to other companies in the world, ensures an full scope of the orthotic and prosthetic production, while most other companies are specialized in one or maximally two segments of the field.

Area of orthopedic shoes (calceotics) has always operated independently, most companies also address area of individual orthopedic insoles, but these are always separated from the field of prosthetics andorthotics. In our company, it is not dissociated, because orthopedic insole or orthopedic shoe are often also part of the brace. A separate area is a production of serial devices and area of assistive devices.

Apart from producing new prostheses, company provides adjustment of prosthesis, when there are changes of patients state of health, or repairs in according to the needs of physicians and patients.

Low extremity prostheses are produced according to the requirements of the physician, the patient and prosthetic technician. The primary consideration should be the level of activity, where we distinguish five degrees.

Level 0 • This is an unwalking patient, where the health status have not allowed use of the prosthesis for the safe movement. The device is produced as a cosmetic prosthesis with the simplest construction.

Level 1 • This is the interior walker type. The user has the ability to use a prosthesis and a prerequisite for moving on a flat surface at a slow constant speed. Walking time is limited by health. Here prostheses with uniaxial or joint with lock ( or with a brake) are used.

Level 2 • This is a limited exterior walker type, where the user is able to overcome inequality and small natural obstacles such as stairs, uneven surfaces at a constant speed of walking. Walking time is limited by health. Foot is a dynamic, one-axis knee joint, but also multi-axis joint can be used.

Level 3 • This is unlimited exterior walker type, where he has the ability to use a prosthesis at medium or higher walking speed. There is a presumption of a ability to walk over most of the natural inequalities and obstacles, as well as overcoming employment, therapeutic and other physical activities and the construction design of the prosthesis simulates style of walking similar to human with a walking defect.

Level 4 • This is similar to the 3rd type walker but with an extra range of activities which generate larger shock and mechanical pressure on the prosthesis. The foot is selected with the ability of accumulation and release of energy. Knee joint mostly has pneumatic unit due to the high level of activity.

Material of individual parts may affect the weight of the equipment, steel, duralumin, or titanium is used and the choice of the material also affects the price of components.

Outside of the aspect, that is the level of activity, physician and prosthetics technician must assess the patient's condition comprehensively, which means assessing the impact on the health, physical and mental conditions, profession, user space and the ability of performing activities of daily life and positive motivation to use prosthetic replacement limb.

Prosthetics technician should take into account the patient's ability to use the tool according to the degree of activity and the possibility of self-service, the space where the patient will move, but also the state of the stump, etc. It is also necessary to take into account the wishes and requirements of the patient during design.

Harmony system
Harmony System prevents volume loss and minimizes volume fluctuations in the residual limb throughout the day.

The excellent adhesion between prosthesis and residual limb reduces tissue elongation and displacement and thereby prevent limb/socket pseudoarthrosis and improve proprioception.

Furthermore, a study has pointed out that a prosthetic fitting with this system promotes residual limb blood circulation.

Harmony E2
Features & Benefits
Harmony E2 is the new electronic pump option for the Harmony System. It has been designed for intuitive and easy use by the amputee. For example the Rotary Switch to select and indicate the pump setting at the same time, to just mention one feature.

It is also the first removable solution. Due to its connection to the prosthesis by a special 4-hole adapter plate it can easily be removed e.g. to charge it without removing the leg. The adapter plate with its integrated valve keeps the vacuum in the socket.

Harmony P3 and Triton Harmony
Features & Benefits
Harmony P3 and Triton Harmony are the mechanical pump options for the Harmony System in BK fittings.

With every step the end-user makes these pumps create (or maintain) the vacuum in the socket. In addition the 3-in1 functional ring, that creates the vacuum, provides vertical shock absorption and a natural rotation function.

The Harmony P3 is a slim and lightweight modular pump. It can be combined with a huge variety of feet and is suitable for active endusers up to 125kg body weight.

The Triton Harmony combines the excellent functionality of the Triton carbon fibre foot with the proven Harmony P3 technology:
Smooth roll-over characteristics, split forefoot for more safety and control on uneven surfaces and excellent energy storage and energy return combined with active vacuum for volume management of the residual limb and unmatched suspension. The Triton Harmony with its compact design is suitable for high active end-users up to 150kg body weight.

The C-Leg
The introduction of the C-Leg Technology in 1997 first made full intelligent control of a prosthesis system and adaptation to the individual gait pattern possible. It uses microprocessor-controlled hydraulics which dynamically adapt the system to the user’s walking speed in real time. At the same time, it offers real security during stance phase.

This proven regulator mechanism is made possible by a complex system of sensors, consisting of strain gauges in the tube adapter and a knee angle sensor. These sensors record stresses every 0.02 seconds, measuring both at the ankle moment above the foot adapter as well as the angle and angular velocity of the knee joint. With this information the joint continuously recognizes which walking phase the wearer is currently in. The result: Your patient can move more easily without having to constantly think about the prosthesis.

The C-Leg compact leg prosthesis system adjusts automatically whether the user is walking down stairs, on slopes, or on uneven terrain. Physiological movement relieves the entire body. Even stumbling, darkness, or dense crowds no longer present a real problem for your patient. The knee joint is made secure with a high level of resistance in the stance phase, and switches to the swing-through phase only when required. Additional advantages of C-Leg.

Technology include standing phase flexion (yielding), low energy expenditure while walking, possible relief of the locomotor system, and the ability to bear weight on the prosthesis during flexion.

Since the introduction of the C-Leg compact, even people with a pronounced need for security can profit from the advantages of C-Leg Technology. While the swing phase is hydraulically controlled, the mechantronically controlled stance phase dampening offers your patient the highest level of security in all situations. It stabilizes the joint after heel impact and maintains that resistance until it switches over to swing phase.

Combining the C-Leg with the prosthetic feet of the Triton product family is a powerful solution, especially for high mobility needs. It offers excellent support for everyday activities and recreational sports – and can be adapted to the individual needs of the user quickly and easily.

Recommended according to the Ottobock MOBIS Mobility System for amputees with Mobility Grades 2 and 3 (restricted outdoor walkers, unrestricted outdoor walkers).

MyoElectric Hands
Bock System Electric Hand combines advanced functionality with maximum comfort. It covers a wide range of needs thanks to the variety of different sizes and integration options.

Otto Bock created a variety of sizes and connection options for establishing the mechanical and electrical connection to the socket, allowing you to cover a wide range of indications.

MyoHand VariPlus Speed
The MyoHand VariPlus Speed® combines the mechanical characteristics of the SensorHand Speed® and the control options of the DMC VariPlus system electric gripper.Thanks to the high gripping strength and speed, objects can be gripped quickly and precisely. With the 757T13 MyoSelect, a total of 6 different programmes can be selected and adapted according to your customer’s indications. This permits optimum adaptation to the needs and abilities of the prosthesis wearer.The elimination of the thumb sensor allows our customer to grip actively and consciously. Items have to be held and positioned by targeted muscle signals since the electronics of the MyoHand do not readjust the gripping strength automatically. This is why Otto Bock recommends the MyoHand VariPlus Speed® for active patients with a low amputation level in particular. A key advantage of the hand is that the user can actively build up a gripping strength of up to 100 N. An optimum selection for our patient can be made from numerous different control programmes. With each control programme, the speed and build-up of gripping strength can be optimally adapted to user requirements using the 757T13 MyoSelect.



SensorHand Speed®
At maximum speed, this hand opens and closes almost three times as fast as a standard System Electric Hand. With a dizzying 300 mm per second opening/closing speed, (over twice as fast as before) and enhanced EMG signal processing, the new “SensorHand Speed®” has unmatched performance. In addition, our unique AutoGrasp feature prevents held objects from slipping by recognizing when an object begins to slip and automatically increasing the grip force as needed.

SensorHand Speed® also allows you to use one or two input devices and to select from various control options.


DMC plus® - System Electric Hand
Otto Bock's Electric Hand with DMC plus control (Dynamic Mode Control) sets new standards. DMC (Dynamic Mode Control) sets a new standard in myoelectric prosthetics: Grip speed and grip force are controlled proportional to the strength of the muscle signal. For response characteristics that are even more sensitive, there's the new DMC plus. This control also features a new type of safety mode: After gripping once with maximum force, a slightly higher EMG signal is required to open the hand. This reduces the chances of the hand opening due to unintentional muscle.


System Electric Hand Digital Twin®
The Electric Hand with Digital Twin® control combines two classic features in one: digital and double-channel control.This way the prosthetist can decide which control mode is best suited for the patient.

DynamicArm
The DynamicArm is an electronically controlled elbow joint with continuous gearing. It permits a close approximation of natural arm movements. The DynamicArm offers a high level of functionality for the user and permits great independence. The elbow joint is controlled by myoelectric signals. The user can rotate the wrist joint, open and close the hand, and flex and extend the elbow joint.

The movements are virtually physiological, precise and fast. This is made possible by the electronics and especially by the continuous Variotransmission. Furthermore, the gear ratio continuously adapts to the environmental conditions – for example to a load being lifted, or to the input signals of the user. The user can actively lift up to five kilograms with the DynamicArm (more than five times the net weight). Electronic sensors supply basic data used by the integrated microprocessor to calculate the control data. With the help of the ElbowSoft software, you can individually configure the elbow component.

The DynamicArm also offers the advantages of the ErgoArm Electronic plus. These include an electronic ratchetless lock, the Easy Plug electric contacting system, the AFB flexion aid and the slip-stop function for controlled lowering of the forearm.

The DynamicArm is suitable for persons with an upper arm amputation or a higher amputation level. It may be used by unilateral or bilateral amputees.



Michelangelo hand
The human hand is incredible. Skills can be refined, speed increased. It can be used for detailed work with a light touch—or for heavyhanded power. But hands are more than just tools. They also say something about a person's character and, with their gestures, are part of the way we communicate. Recreating the natural form and as many of these functions as possible in a prosthesis is one of the greatest challenges for medical technology. The Michelangelo® offers incredible function and can restore many hand functions for you. In combination with the new Axon-Bus® system, it constitutes a milestone in prosthetic fittings for the upper limb.

Rigid cervical orthosis from polyethylene.

Body brace
Corrective body brace of the type Cheneau can effectively correct the scoliotic spine. Can also correct most of the scoliosis curves of any size. It is preferably used for capturing large scoliosis curvature in the preoperative and sufficient stabilization in the postoperative period.

Three-point corset with/without padded supports
Individually adaptive hyper-extension orthosis for restriction of lateral movements because of a stable frame construction. Rotation limitation by subclavicular padded supports.

Anti-spasticity Ball Splint
Polyethylene plastic splint serves to keep hand in a neutral position so that the palm arch is maintained. Straps are attached with the pieces of Velcro.

Functional Position Splint
Made from polyethylene with Velcro attached straps. Serves to keep the hand and wrist in one functional position.

Armbrace limited-motion elbow
The easy-to-fit arm brace. Made from soft material and splint with the individually adjustable joint. It's possible to set the flexion and extension limits.

Indications:
Proximale radius fracture, ulna fracture

Lower limb orthoses
Individual orthosis must be made, when the doctor can not apply massproduced orthosis for various reasons or such orthosis does not exist for that specific kind of damage. Our company is able to produce fully individual orthoses that will meet all of the requirements of both the doctor and patient.

Becker's splints
Rotary splints with brackets incorporated into the shoe that rotates the entire lower limb into the physiological stature using rods made out of elastic rubber. None of limb functions are affected.

Indications:
Splints can be used for single-sided and double-sided disability.

Atlanta - abduction apparatus
The support apparatus is indicated for single or double sided aseptic necrosis of the hip joint, for treatment of hip dysplasia, and post-inflammatory conditions in the hip area. The device is equipped with an adjustable telescopic handle that maintains the position of the hip in abduction. AFO proprioceptive orthosis
Great attention is paid to work with pediatric patients with whom it is necessary and required to use proprioceptive orthosis (method by Nancy Hylton).

Professional orthotics - prosthetists deal with this work in cooperation with physiotherapists according to the recommendations of physicians. Production of these types of devices is always very determined by the state of patient and from prosthetic standpoint it is very demanding. Construction involves a combination of several consecutive dynamic orthoses. The advantage of these braces is that they use proprioception against purely mechanical effect.

These dynamic orthoses are primarily designed for children with ICP – infantile celebral palsy, but are also useful for longitudinal flat feet, hypotonicity, spina bifida (split spine), cerebral stroke, ataxia etc. Aim of this device is to affect stability, sensory feedback, balance, movement and muscle tone adjustment and mechanical instability through irritating proprioreceptors. Indications

A diabetic foot is a foot that exhibits any pathology that results directly from diabetes mellitus or any long-term (or "chronic") complication of diabetes mellitus.[1]Presence of several characteristic diabetic foot pathologies is called diabetic foot syndrome.

This orthosis can reduce the following diabetic foot defekt:
• Ulceration.
• Infection.
• Neuropathic osteoarthropathy.

This special orthosis lead to:
Relieve areas of excessive pressure. Any area where there is excessive pressure on the foot can lead to skin breakdown or ulcers. Footwear should help to relieve these high-pressure areas and therefore reduce the occurrence of related problems.

Reduce shock and shear. A reduction in the overall amount of vertical pressure, or shock, on the bottom of the foot is desirable, as well as a reduction of horizontal movement of the foot within the shoe, or shear.

Accommodate, stabilize and support deformities. Deformities resulting from conditions such as Charcot involvement, loss of fatty tissue, hammer toes and amputations must be accommodated. Many deformities need to be stabilized to relieve pain and avoid further destruction. In addition, some deformities may need to be controlled or supported to decrease progression of the deformity.

Limit motion of joints. Limiting the motion of certain joints in the foot can often decrease inflammation, relieve pain, and result in a more stable and functional foot.

Foot defects have become one of the civilization diseases. The company Malik therefore takes great interest in the field of orthopedic insoles, which represents a growing important group in production volume. In addition, in many cases it replaces the more expensive individual orthopedic shoes.

Hand made individual insoles
In the production of individual inserts we adhere to the series of processes.

This includes making the skeleton, core or the entire shape of the inserts with positive plaster cast, modified hooves, 3D model from imitation wood or hard foam model.

The most common materials are korkfant and colavel,in case of hard insoles polyethylene also is used.

Individual insoles from hand made semifinished product
We make a modifications of handmade semifinished insoles. We use a preform with the required shape and dimension of the transverse arch with or without the metatarsal corpuscles. The blank is adjusted by wedging, adding individual relief for heel spurs, etc.

On the photos are examples of preforms. Upper without and middle with arch corpuscle. On lower picture is our children deep heel insole. They all are made from kokfant and colavel or evaco material.

Supporting insoles
The most popular among customers and physicians are two main types of our supporting insoles.

The Italian model
is based on a taking footprint using dynamic form, by walking in special shoes with the plastic material. This footprint is shaped by technician and the necessary corrections of shape are done. Then in under pressure device we obtain a negative imprint, which is through vacuum use utransferred into the polyurethane material reinforced plastic layer.

The French model
is based on the principle of taking direct footprint into the skeleton of a composite material using a special pre-heated pads.

Technician takes shape obtained, performs the necessary impression corrections impression, and adds various corpuscles and surfaces using adhesive glue and hot air.
