In the area of orthopedic footwear, serial production of medical devices and trade business, it has a trade license under the Trade licensing Act.

Company was founded in 1992, by the privatization of the former Regional Prosthetic Department of the University Hospital Hradec Králové.

The business started in July 1, 1992. This privatization was carried out with the cooperation and support of leadership of the University Hospital. The business has started in the same place where until then the Regional prosthetic department of the University Hospital in Hradec Králové was placed.

From historic standpoint orthopedic and prosthetic care was established in Hradec Králové in 1921 as a branch of the Orthopedic co-operative of invalids of Prague. In 1961, the co-operatives operations were transferred tot he University Hospital Hradec Králové, where the Regional prosthetic department was formed.

Substantial development of this department is bound to the year 1984, when the government enacted a resolution to ensure full autonomy of the production of individual prosthetic and orthotic devices. The Regional department oriented itself to the high-tech technology from world-leader in prostetic bussiness, german company Otto Bock, which has since beenregularly training prosthetic and orthotic technicians in usage of modern construction technology for prostheses and orthoses.

Workplace in Hradec Králové was self-sufficient in the production of prostheses and orthoses, including orthopedic insoles and soft bandages, in the production of individual orthopedic footware only technical work was provided, which means taking sspecific measurements needed for its own production, testing and footwear application.

Our partners
The company Malik is working closely with health institutions in Pardubice and Hradec Králové regions with 1.75 million inhabitans. That does not mean that it has not cooperated with medical facilities in other regions, but it is rather a specialized support in a certain area of the care.

We collaborate with both practitioners and specialists in particular with various specializations, in the first place with the prosthetic doctors, orthopedic doctors, rehabilitation physicians and other specialists. In the branch of non-medical disciplines with physiotherapists and rehabilitation workers.

We cooperate with these medical subjects
The first is cooperation with hospitals, especially with the University Hospital in Hradec Králové.

If we analyze, with which hospital clinics we cooperate the most, collaboration with orthopedic clinic would be on the first place. This is particularly so if , the clinic is employing specialized orthopedic-prosthetic doctor who has a office at the our company's headquarters. In this office we provide prosthetic care physicians from other sectors, which means that he is investigating patients from the perspective of the prosthetics and specifies a particular type of equipment that the patient needs. He also provides followup care for this type of patient and also provides consulting services to individual clinics. The orthopedic clinic closely cooperates with other outpatient physicians who recommend prosthetic devices.

Another close cooperation is with the rehabilitation and prosthetic clinic, where the entire range of rehabilitation is provided. In addition there is inpatient department divided into rehabilitation part and prosthetics part. In the prosthetic part patients are placed where they receive new prostheses or switch from simplied type to the more complex type and are rehabilitated and trained by the school of walking.

We have good cooperation with other clinics such as surgery, pediatric hospitals, neurosurgery, neurology, internal medicine and oncology clinic.

These clinics require individual aids mainly in the field of orthotics.

There is also cooperation with other smaller hospitals in the region, such as a hospital in Pardubice, Nachod, Jicin etc.

Private surgeons
Company Malik provides an important service and orthotic-prosthetic care for the full range of private outpatients orthopedic surgeons throughout the region. They first come into contact with the patients who need prosthetic equipment recommended by GPs. There is also desire for the entire range of prosthetic devices, but mostly devices dominated in the field of orthotics and foot.

There is further cooperation with specialized care centers or homes for disabled patients with problems in the musculoskeletal system whom require specialized and long-term care. For this group of patients we provide care in an area of orthotics and assistive devices.

Spas and specialized centers

Equally important is cooperation with spa. In the East Bohemia region are Janske Lazne spa that specializes in the musculoskeletal system defects.

To these spas patients are coming as part of treatment which usually needs orthotic devices. Collaboration is done by making new devices or modifications of existing equipment. This is predominantly in the field of orthotics, but also mobility aids.

E - MAG Active
The E-MAG Active is a trend-setting innovation in the development of orthotic knee joint systems. It sets new standards in terms of safety, dynamics and mobility.

Thanks to unique functions, the E - MAG Active offers the user noticeable advantages. It is the first electronically controlled system knee joint with a controlled stance phase and free swing phase that is not dependent on the ankle and sole of the foot. Withsig nificantly less noise and temporary enable function. The principle of the E - MAG Active is both, innovative and consistent. An intelligent sensor system measures the position of the leg during walking and causes the orthotic joint to switch accordingly.

It is suitable for patients with increased need for mobility who up to now have not been able or have declined to be adequately fitted with an orthosis for different anatomical reasons. Use of the E - MAG Active can help prevent contractures and joint damage caused by immobilization, reduce muscular atrophy, and promote the development of existing muscles. The contralateral side is relieved, and compensating movements are avoided. Less energy is required for walking, and the patient benefits from an increased mobility.

Special orthosis for diabetic foot
This orthosis manufactured individually according to a plaster cast of the foot.

A diabetic foot is a foot that exhibits any pathology that results directly from diabetes mellitus or any long-term (or "chronic") complication of diabetes mellitus.[1]Presence of several characteristic diabetic foot pathologies is called diabetic foot syndrome.
